Accommodation
Travel to Amorgos Island
Amorgos Island does not have an airport, but it is easily accessible via daily ferries and high-speed vessels. Athens International Airport (ATH) is the most convenient airport for arrival. Ferries depart from Athens port, Piraeus, and dock alternately at the two ports of Amorgos Island: Katapola and Aegiali (near the hotel).
Transfer Options from Athens Airport to the Port of Piraeus
Express Bus X96: Departs every 20 minutes during the day and every 40 minutes at night from Athens International Airport Arrivals Level (between Entrance 4 and 5) to "Karaiskaki Square" in Piraeus, directly adjacent to the ferry terminal. Ticket price is $5.00. Journey duration is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Metro: Take the subway from the airport to Monastiraki station, then transfer to Line 1 (green line). The terminus of Line 1 is Piraeus station, just outside the ferry terminal entrance. Journey time is approximately one hour. Trains operate every 30 minutes, with the first service departing the airport at 5:30am and the last at 11:30pm.
Taxi: The most convenient option. The drive from the airport to the port takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
During the summer season (mid-June to mid-September), Amorgos ports can also be reached via high-speed vessels departing from Piraeus and Rafina ports, such as Seajet Superjet.
You can also fly into Naxos, Santorini, or Mykonos and ferry to Amorgos from these additional airports. You may even consider extending your trip by a day or two to explore these regions.
