Yin yoga is often referred to as “the quiet practice” which allows students to move more inward and into a meditative state. Yin poses are a series of long held passive floor poses that mainly work the hips pelvis, thighs and lower lumbar spine. The opposite of a muscle engaged yoga practice we soften all of our muscles in each pose to allow all the fascia (connective tissue), ligaments, tendons and joints to modestly simulate. Some benefits to practicing Yin are increased mobility in the body (especially the joints and hips), brings a calm and balancing affect to the mind and body and can help you sit longer more comfortably for meditation. Open to all levels and abilities. Hot Tea will be offered for an extra cozy class.

This 2 hour workshop will focus on the season of rest and moving into shapes that benefit the meridians and organs associated with the season.
